This is the very first chapter for a young artist whose passion about what he does, represents hope for hip-hop. Esseljay, with the release of his debut EP 'Daydream' has set the tone for what to expect from him, as his artistry progresses. His release ‘Daydream’, at its core, is nothing less than the meeting point of beautiful dreams, and terrible nightmares, in art. Everything from Godly feelings, to devilish thoughts; from love, to hate, is felt and expressed on this explosive, yet mellow EP. As an artist committed to combating mindless music, and creating in the modern day what is known as hip-hop, Esseljay put his heart and soul outside of his body, accompanied by instrumental, for all to absorb. Contrary to popular trend, it's clear from the start that this album was intended to incite, and influence. This can all be summed up with a quote from the albums climax, 'Springtime Blues' in which he states "I'm a rebel, lover, revolutionary, student, who is addicted to every truth anybody ever knew." All of this in 6 songs -each filled with so much feeling- it's an emotional roller coaster at its extreme. This isn't your average cookie cutter album, it's a hand crafted deliberate story of mental and spiritual progression. This, is the beginning of something memorable.
